Live! Casino and Hotel Maryland is reaching out to everyone interested in learning how to play poker.
The casino resort located in Hanover, close to Baltimore-Washington International Airport, has emerged as a prominent spot for both experienced poker players and newcomers. On Saturday, October 19, Live! Maryland’s poker room staff will be available to assist beginners in understanding the fundamentals of the well-liked card game.
Entitled “How to Play Poker,” the casino’s inaugural free poker class will take place from 10 a. m. to 12 noon on that Saturday. Registered participants will engage in a group poker session “led by a skilled poker team. ” The lesson will mainly concentrate on Texas Hold’em, the most favored variant of poker.
"Poker is a complex game,” said Christopher Angelo, the director of poker at Live! Casino & Hotel Maryland. “This free lesson is a chance for novice or intermediate players to learn how to play Texas Hold’em in a casino setting, understand the basics, and gain confidence at the table without the pressure of a real poker game.”
The two-hour course will take place in the Live! Casino and Hotel Maryland Poker Room, a two-level, 50-table venue that features a private bar and on-site massage services for players.
The "poker boom" began in 2003 when Chris Moneymaker triumphed in the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event after entering the tournament via an online event. Prior to securing the $86 satellite qualification and going on to surpass 839 competitors who paid the $10K entry fee to claim the first-place prize of $2. 5 million, Moneymaker worked as a full-time accountant.
Moneymaker’s surprising success in the 2003 WSOP Main Event encouraged millions of casual poker enthusiasts to start playing for real money both online and at casinos and cardrooms. The buy-ins for the 2004 Main Event skyrocketed by 207% to 2,576 entries. Total entries climbed to 5,619 in 2005 and reached 8,773 entries for the 2006 WSOP Main Event.
Poker is once again experiencing growth following the COVID-19 pandemic. While 2021 Main Event entries numbered just 6,650, participation rebounded to 8,663 in 2022, to 10,043 in 2023, and peaked at 10,112 this year when Jonathan Tamayo secured the $10 million first-place prize.

Having reviews for everything is beneficial. Even negative reviews can benefit your business because they tell you about the player experience. A well-written review will be succinct and provide enough information to prospective players to avoid forcing them to draw incorrect conclusions about the encounter. It should be as error-free as possible and offer comments and recommendations without disparaging the company in order to ensure that it is professional.
